Check Power Steering Level: 1990 GMC C2500 Sierra 6.2L V8 Diesel Extended Cab Pickup

The video above shows you the steps needed to check the power steering fluid level in your 1990 GMC C2500. Checking the power steering fluid level in your C2500 is relatively easy and should be done once a month or if you are experienced difficulty turning the wheel or steering your C2500. Your C2500 should be parked on a level surface and your 6.2 liter engine should be cold to the touch. If the power steering fluid level in your C2500 is low, fill it up to the maximum line with power steering fluid and check it again in a week to determine if you have a leak. The power steering fluid reservoir will typically have a symbol of a steering wheel on the cap. Likewise, if your C2500 has electric power steering, you may see a steering wheel picture with an explanation point next to it on your dashboard to indicate power steering problems.
