Source note on shared footage
We have a massive and growing video library, but we don't have everything...yet.
Car companies often use the same engines in different cars. They also slightly alter the styling and sell the same car by two different names (amongst other tricks to help offset development costs).
Our system selects the most applicable video for your car based, in part, on these characteristics. The video displayed may not look exactly like your car, but may be relevant enough for you to get a good idea how to do it.

Procedure notes
The engine air filter in your 1998 Pontiac Grand Am cleans the air that enters your engine. You should change the filter on your Grand Am at least once a year or every 20,000 miles, whichever comes first. If you drive in dusty or sandy conditions, you should change your filter more frequently. A dirty air filter will cause your Grand Am to lose 1 - 3 mpg, depending on your driving, you can save 70 - 100 gallons of gas per year simply by changing your filter regularly. The video above, shows you where the engine air filter is located in your Grand Am and how to change it!In addition to improving the fuel economy of your Grand Am, regularly replacing your air filter will put less strain on your engine. These filters are fairly inexpensive, so check out our parts page for great deals and coupons on a new one (tip: buy several, when you go to check the filter on your Grand Am, you can easily swap it for a new one if it is dirty). Be sure to adhere to a recurring schedule for your 1998 Pontiac Grand Am replacement.
