Car Repair Basics: Finding the Right Guide for Your Vehicle
Match repair information to your make, model year, engine and symptoms. Understand video applicability and share useful evidence with other owners.
Identify the vehicle before the procedure
A model name can cover different years, engines and markets. Check the owner’s manual and vehicle configuration, then filter by make, year and model. A vehicle appearing in the directory does not mean every repair procedure is available.
Describe symptoms before choosing parts
Record when the issue appears, whether the vehicle is cold or warm, dashboard messages and checks already performed. A trouble code is a clue, not proof that a particular part needs replacement. Share results as well as the initial question.
Check the filmed vehicle and applicable years
Our library retains the source, filmed vehicle and applicability years. Some configurations use references filmed on another model year; the page identifies this. Chinese translations are available alongside the original English. Prefer manufacturer information for your exact vehicle.
Finish the maintenance record
Document the diagnosis, work, parts and follow-up check. Work involving braking systems, vehicle lifting or high-voltage equipment calls for appropriate professional skills and equipment. Another owner’s experience cannot replace an inspection of your vehicle.
